Why Must I Change My UV Bulb When it is Still Lit

As you may know, UV light is not visible to the naked eye. Over time UV output will diminish. Although the UV lamp might not be completely burned out, if it is nearing the end of its life, it won’t be able to efficiently provide UV for pets. Changing the lamp on time is critical to ensuring their safety.

The UV test card is based on the principle of molecular change.

When the energy of the molecule absorbs from sunlight and ultraviolet light reaches a certain level, the structure of the molecule changes, resulting in a change in wavelength, which ultimately changes the color of the substance.

FEATURES

- How to confirm：The color is reversible, which will be affected by the color depth change due to the intensity of light. When the card absorbs enough UVB, it finally changes its color from white to purple.
- Easy to Test：Just place the testing card 3.5 inches away from the heating lamp and hold on 10 seconds, which can quickly test if there is an ultraviolet ray.
- Recyclable Times：Suitable for sunglass test & sterilizing，reusable 500 times. Replace the bulb annually or sooner if the card doesn't show any color.
- Cover Testing：Cover a part of the testing card with your thumb, when the color shows between the thumb-covered and non-covered areas on the testing card show difference, which means that the UVB bulb is working effectively.
