MADE IN USA - Proudly crafted from premium stainless steel in Wisconsin, ensuring top-notch quality and durability. Each plug is precisely CNC machined and hand-assembled by skilled craftsmen. This ensures superior quality, making it a reliable choice for long-term use.
HIGH-TEMPERATURE N48SH GRADE NEODYMIUM MAGNET - Equipped with a powerful rare earth magnet rated for high temperatures. This magnet effectively captures unwanted ferrous particles, ensuring cleaner oil and extending engine life. It operates in temperatures up to 150°C (302°F), higher than standard magnets. Neodymium magnets are one of the strongest magnets available on the planet, our plug’s magnet has the strength to hold weights over 2.2 lbs!
SUPERIOR STAINLESS-STEEL CONSTRUCTION - Unlike aluminum plugs, our plug is made from robust 304 stainless steel to prevent shearing or snapping. Designed to last for years without compromising strength. Our steel is sourced domestically, ensuring it is not weak recycled material often found in foreign metals.
TRUSTED USA BRAND - Votex, a family-run business since 2019, specializes in high-quality drain plugs. Our dedication to excellence ensures every product meets the highest standards for performance and reliability. Trust in Votex for durable, American-made automotive parts that stand the test of time.
Votex drain plugs are proudly MADE IN USA from the stainless-steel bar stock material, the CNC machine that cuts our plugs, right down to the hands of the VOTEX crew that craft each individual drain plug. We construct our plugs with pride and care in our home state of Wisconsin, which ensures that we supply drain plugs manufactured with real quality stainless steel (not pot metal) that will last for countless years to come. We include an aluminum crush washer; yes, also MADE IN USA.
What makes our drain plug unique outside its flawless craftsmanship and top-notch materials is the heart of it, a HIGH-TEMPERATURE N48SH GRADE NEODYMIUM MAGNET. Our plug uses a rare earth, high-strength neodymium magnet, rated specifically to function in high-temperature environments, extracting unwanted ferrous particles from your vehicle's engine. The VOTEX drain plug will operate in temperatures up to 150°C or 302°F. A quality motor oil will tolerate oil temperatures up to 250 degrees but starts breaking down once it reaches 275 degrees. The operating temperature for engine oil is between 194 and 230°F, so our magnet will work in temperatures far past that of engine oil.
Neodymium magnets are one of the strongest magnets available on the planet, and we use one of the strongest grade versions available. Our magnet has the strength to hold weights over 2.2 lbs.! This empowers our plug with enormous strength to effectively pull these unwanted metals out of your motor oil, resulting in longer engine life. Loose metal debris in your engine oil can slowly start to wear on the internals of your engine.
One must note that the drain plug market has a plethora of options, most of which are constructed of aluminum. Aluminum is an inferior metal choice due to its poor strength and will commonly shear/snap, leaving you with a broken plug stuck in your oil pan. Aluminum has no place as the material for a drain plug.
For replacement washers, search B07ZRY3KVP. For tool-free stainless steel oil drain valve, search B0D21L8PNH. For our magnetic plug, search B0CWS6D3C9.

Common questions about buying open-box and refurbished.
Why buy refurbished or open-box?
Refurbished and open-box products offer the same performance as new at a fraction of the price. You're already saving $5 on this listing. They've been inspected, tested, and are ready to use — the only difference is the price tag. Buying refurbished also reduces electronic waste, extending product life cycles and keeping functional devices out of landfills.
What's the difference between open-box and refurbished?
Open-box products are customer returns that have been inspected and confirmed functional. They may show little to no use — often the item was returned simply because the buyer changed their mind. Refurbished products have been professionally repaired or restored by technicians, tested to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and sometimes come with a warranty. Both are a smart alternative to buying new.
Why use OpenBoxFox?
Finding refurbished deals is time-consuming — you'd have to check Amazon Warehouse, Reebelo, Dyson Outlet, and others separately for Votex products. OpenBoxFox aggregates these listings in one place, so you can compare and find the best deal without the legwork. We update pricing daily so you always see current availability and real savings.
Is it safe to buy refurbished?
Yes. Products listed on OpenBoxFox come from established retailers like Amazon, Reebelo, and Dyson — not unknown third-party sellers. Each retailer has buyer protection policies, return windows, and in some cases warranties. You get the price advantage of used goods with the purchase security of a known retailer.
