Function - The VGT solenoid ultimately controls the position of the vanes in the variable geometry turbine housing. Excessive turbocharger lag, low turbo boost (manifold absolute pressure or MAP), excessive smoke under load, and overall poor turbocharger performance are typically signs that the VGT system is not functioning properly. A failed solenoid defaults to the open position, making it difficult to build boost.These can cause serious damage and even total turbo failure;
Quality & Installation- The wastegate solenoid utilizes aluminum valve bodies that are surface-treated to create micro finished surfaces for increased wear resistance, means you will get a fairly reliable vgt actuator to perform excellently under all engine operating conditions.
