Shurtape SF-685 ShurMASTIC Butyl Rubber Foil Tape is used for air-tight and moisture-free sealing of rigid and flexible air duct systems. Used primarily to seal sheet metal duct in both indoor and outdoor applications and used as a permanent, water-resistant sealer. Use this duct mastic tape to mend poorly sealed connections; improve indoor air quality (since fewer pollutants circulating); lower utility bills; and burn fewer fossil fuels. Standards Met: UL 723 Classified; Pressure Classes SMACNA ½, 1,2,3,4, & 6; Seal Classes A, B, C; US Green Building Council – LEED Point contributor product; City of Los Angeles Approval RR #8069. Carrier/Backing: printed, aluminum foil. Adhesive: non-flammable, butyl rubber. Release Liner: LDPE (low-density polyethylene) film. Thickness: 17 mils (carrier, adhesive). Adhesion: 255 ounces per inch (to stainless steel test panel). Tensile Strength: 25 pounds per inch (longitudinal). Service/Operating Temperature: -20F to 200F. Application Temperature: 35F to 110F.
