If the height is insufficient, stack the included rubber shims underneath the extension ring until its top is completely flush with the tile surface. Third, place the extension ring over the drain opening. You can easily adjust the angle to align it with the screw holes on the base, which are spaced 2-1/2 to 3 inches apart. Fourth, take the stainless steel screws from the drain extension kit, thread them through the original metal cover plate and the new extension ring, insert them vertically into the base’s screw holes, and tighten them. Apply moderate force to ensure the cover plate is secure and does not wobble. Finally, for optimal waterproofing, we recommend applying a small amount of waterproof silicone or grout to the joint between the drain edge and the tile. Wipe away any excess and allow it to dry.
