(Just make sure the piston calipers space can accommodate the spreader) Note: This tool pushes the piston straight back and is not suitable for brakes that require a twist-and-compress motion or for drum brakes. Squeeze the plates toward the caliper until the ratchet engages. Then, repeatedly swing the handle until the pistons are fully retracted. Flip the switch to retract the boards and remove the tool. Note: Applying inward pressure is necessary to operate the ratchet. If the tool is set too narrow, keep pushing the spreader against the caliper metal.
