This mixed bed color-changing resin is a last-step polishing media only. It’s never meant to work on raw tap water by itself.
If you skip an RO reverse osmosis system or water softener as pre-treatment, heavy minerals and high hardness in tap water will burn through the resin capacity extremely fast, resulting in much lower treated gallons.
This is a normal usage limitation, not a product quality problem.

FAQ 2: Why didn't the resin change color after it stopped producing pure water?
Only the cation part of the resin changes color when fully exhausted.
If your incoming water has extremely high salinity/hardness, the resin gets overloaded and depleted rapidly before visible color change happens.
Please check if your front RO membrane or water softener is expired or has failed and needs replacement.

FAQ 3: What's the correct way to use this DI mixed bed resin?
1. Install an RO reverse osmosis filter plus a pre-filter/water softener as front-end pretreatment.
2. Add this resin as the final polishing stage.
3. It will polish leftover dissolved solids to deliver TDS 0 ultra-pure water.

Standard rated capacity: 300–600 gallons.
