Twist clockwise to tighten the knob, the tighter the knob the finer the grind. The two-stage grinding mechanism first effortlessly cracks the peppercorns and then grinds them to the desired coarseness.

To refill, simply unscrew the top knob, lift off the top and pour in your peppercorns (max size 1/4 inch or 6mm) and dry rock salt (max crystal size of 2/5 inch or 4mm).
