Most of pottery is thick and heavy, so low and dull sound are made when tapping it, it does not allow light to pass through it. It has excellent water absorption and is made in glazed, so it is basically impervious to water. It is excellent in thermal conductivity, which makes it difficult to warm it up but has a capacity hardly getting cold.
