The LightKeeper Pro is not intended for LEDs, Rope lights or light sets with control boxes (including battery packs). The LightKeeper Pro only works to assist with light sets wired in series, meaning the bulbs rely on one another to illuminate. If you can go up to a lit section of your light set and remove a bulb, and the section then becomes unlit, then your set is indeed wired in series-- meaning the LightKeeper Pro should be able to assist with this type of light set.

The LightKeeper Pro has two repair methods: 1) The LightKeeper Pro's Quick Fix Method repairs the #1 cause of light set failure known as a Shunt Issue (internal bulb failure). 2) The LightKeeper Pro's Audible Voltage Detector assists in finding interuptions in the circuit such as loose bulbs, connection issues within the socket, etc. This feature does not work on a lit light set that has no issues. The average incandescent light set only lasts up to about 2000 hours. Our LightKeeper Pro can fix most incandescent, series wired light sets unless the light set has been used to the full capacity and has no more life left in it.

Then scan. You are in complete control as you know exactly where the issue is – the missing bulb. You can scan along the set before and after that empty bulb socket to see what readings you’re getting. 3) If this is a new LightKeeper Pro, we recommend cleaning the batteries on both sides with a paper towel.
