Function: The accelerator pedal position sensor tells your throttle body how far to open. When you press or let off the gas pedal, it sends that data to the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) to be relayed to the fuel system and throttle body.
How it Works: The accelerator pedal position sensor works by using a Hall Effect sensor that determines the location of the pedal by a magnetic field. It produces a change in the charge based on a change in the position of the pedal.
