Description

A KELTY CLASSIC: The cosmic 20 has long been a staple of Kelty’s backpacking lineup and a favorite of campers worldwide with 550 FP compressible down, silky soft fabrics, dual direction zippers, the cosmic is built for comfort at the campsite

PFAS FREE AS IT SHOULD BE: None of that toxic stuff here – Recycled nylon and polyester taffeta shell and liner fabrics to keep even more out of the landfill, finished with durable water repellent. Planet Earth approved

SUSTAINABLE + TRACEABLE DOWN: Did we mention all our down is 100% ethically sourced and traceable via RDS? Info on product tag to trace each specific batch of down, Kelty means business when it comes to sustainability.

1952: Since Eisenhower was in the oval, Kelty has been designing camping gear in sunny Colorado. A founding member of The Conservation Alliance, Kelty continues to lead the industry with quality gear for your outdoor shenanigans on or off the trail

THE DEETS: Each size up represents additional 6” of total length: Short fits sleepers up to 5’ 6”, Regular 6’, Long 6’ 6”. ISO limit rating 21 degrees, ISO extreme rating -11 degrees. Total weight about 2 lbs. 6 oz. (regular) stuffed size 13 x 7”

Remember the trapezoid from high school geometry? Turns out, this funky ol' shape is ideal for helping sleeping bags retain heat. Our trapezoidal baffle construction is just one of the reasons the Cosmic Down is still our favorite three-season superstar. We also love the expanded natural-fit footbox for happier feet, zippered stash pocket and fully recycled fabrics and PFAS-free DWR treatment. The Cosmic Down is the total package.

Common questions about buying open-box and refurbished.

Why buy refurbished or open-box?

Refurbished and open-box products offer the same performance as new at a fraction of the price. You're already saving $52 on this listing. They've been inspected, tested, and are ready to use — the only difference is the price tag. Buying refurbished also reduces electronic waste, extending product life cycles and keeping functional devices out of landfills.

What's the difference between open-box and refurbished?

Open-box products are customer returns that have been inspected and confirmed functional. They may show little to no use — often the item was returned simply because the buyer changed their mind. Refurbished products have been professionally repaired or restored by technicians, tested to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and sometimes come with a warranty. Both are a smart alternative to buying new.

Why use OpenBoxFox?

Finding refurbished deals is time-consuming — you'd have to check Amazon Warehouse, Reebelo, Dyson Outlet, and others separately for Kelty products. OpenBoxFox aggregates these listings in one place, so you can compare and find the best deal without the legwork. We update pricing daily so you always see current availability and real savings.

Is it safe to buy refurbished?

Yes. Products listed on OpenBoxFox come from established retailers like Amazon, Reebelo, and Dyson — not unknown third-party sellers. Each retailer has buyer protection policies, return windows, and in some cases warranties. You get the price advantage of used goods with the purchase security of a known retailer.
