JET 13" Benchtop Thickness Planer, Helical Cutterhead, 30 Carbide Inserts — Open-Box, 8% Off

HELICAL CUTTERHEAD, 30 CARBIDE INSERTS: 30 four-sided carbide inserts arranged in a helical pattern shear the wood for a smoother surface and a quieter cut (91 dB rated, vs. 93 dB for JET's straight-knife version). When an edge dulls, rotate that insert 90 degrees to a fresh edge instead of replacing a full knife set. 5 spare inserts included.

13" WIDE x 6" THICK CAPACITY: Planes boards up to 13" wide and 6" thick. The 2 HP, 15-amp, 120V motor turns the cutterhead at 9,500 RPM with a 24.6 FPM feed rate. Take up to 1/8" per pass on boards 6" wide or less and up to 1/16" on full-width stock. A four-post head support and a 1/16"-per-turn crank with a fine-increment dial give controlled height adjustment.

BUILT FOR SOLID WOOD IN SMALL SHOPS: Made for serious hobbyists, small-shop woodworkers, finish carpenters, and trade-school shops that need a full 13" planer without a stationary machine. Planes solid hardwood and softwood only. It is not for plywood, painted or reclaimed lumber, or end grain. Boards must be at least 14" long, 3/16" thick, and 3/4" wide.

DEPTH STOP, DUST PORT, FOLDING TABLES: A depth stop preset returns you to common thicknesses, and an onboard depth-of-cut gauge shows how much material each pass will remove. The dual-size dust port fits 4" and 2-1/2" hoses (550 CFM minimum recommended). Folding infeed/outfeed tables support longer boards and fold up for storage. The planer can also be stored upright.

WHAT'S INCLUDED + 5-YEAR WARRANTY: Includes the planer with crank handle and dust hood installed, 5 spare carbide inserts with screws, 2 Torx drivers, a 3mm T-handle hex driver, a push stick, and the manual. Weighs 66 lb, with carrying handles; use two people to unbox. Stand, dust collector, and bench fasteners are sold separately. 5-year limited warranty.
