Built-In Thermostat at Cable End A pre-installed thermostat is located at the far end of the heating cable (opposite to the plug). The thermostat automatically activates the cable when the pipe temperature drops to approximately 37°F (3°C) and switches it off at around 50°F (10°C). This placement ensures accurate pipe temperature sensing, helps save energy, prevents unnecessary operation, and extends the service life of the cable. Installation Requirements The cable must be installed in a straight line along the pipe. It must not be wrapped, coiled, overlapped, or crossed, as this could cause overheating and damage. Pipes must remain completely filled with water during operation; dry pipes may cause overheating or fire hazards. The cable should be tightly secured with electrical tape or cable ties and then covered with proper insulation (such as fiberglass with a vapor seal) for maximum efficiency.
