Replace Hayward SP1023 1-1/2-Inch FIP Inlet Return Fitting with Locknut and Gasket

Above ground pool inlet fitting has 1.5 in. female threads for plugs, outlet caps, directional fittings (eyeball fittings), grille inserts, Jetair spa fittings, and aftermarket nozzles

Lock nut and washer allows inlet fitting to pass through fiberglass pool or vinyl pool liner without leaking

Inlet Return Fitting: a flange nut (lock nut), two separate washers, a fiberglass washer and the inlet fitting body

The flange nut end, the fiberglass washer, and one washer should be located on the outside of the pool, behind the fiberglass or vinyl liner, and the other washer should be located on the inside of the pool with the return fitting body. This means that the fiberglass liner or fiberglass will be sandwiched with one washer on each side. Applying silicone sealant to the side of the gasket in contact with the liner or fiberglass will provide an additional sealing layer. Thread the body of the fitting through one gasket, the liner hole, the other gasket, the fiberglass gasket, and finally tighten with the flange nut. Check the seal over the next few days to make sure there are no leaks.
