Take the old cable housing measure against the new housing to see if length adjustments are needed. After ensuring the correct length attach the gear cable housing to your frame.

Adjust the gear cable tightening or loosening based upon feedback from shifting the gear. Once the gears are set up perfectly attach the gear nipple and pinch with pliers. This prevents the gear cable from fraying at the end. Replicate again for your front or rear derailleur.
