BZIZU 10Gb PCIe NIC Network Card, Intel 82599EN SFP+, X520-DA1 Compatible — Open-Box, 10% Off
Brand: BZIZU
Description
GENUINE INTEL 82599EN, THE X520-DA1 SILICON: Sustained 10 Gigabit throughput for NAS transfers, VM migration and iSCSI storage; the link also steps down to 2.5G, 1G and 100M for a slower switch port
NO VENDOR LOCK ON THE SFP+ CAGE: Third-party DAC twinax, AOC, 10GBASE-SR multimode and 10GBASE-LR single-mode optics all link up, unlike Intel-branded cards that reject modules they do not recognize
PLUG AND PLAY ON PROXMOX, TRUENAS, UNRAID AND ESXI: Also detected by QNAP, Synology, Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS with no driver step; on Windows install the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack
ONLY FOUR PCIe LANES, BOTH BRACKETS IN THE BOX: Seats in any x4, x8 or x16 slot, leaving the rest of the board free; full-height and low-profile brackets both ship, for ATX towers, 1U and 2U racks, mini-ITX
AIRFLOW, LIKE ANY 10G CARD: The passive heatsink runs warm by design, so give it case airflow or clip a small fan to it in a silent build; jumbo frames to 9KB and checksum offload run in hardware
BZIZU 10Gb PCIe NIC - Intel 82599EN, Single SFP+ Port, X520-DA1 Compatible Gigabit stopped being enough the moment a NAS filled up with 4K footage, or a hypervisor started moving virtual machines across the network. A 10 gigabit link removes that ceiling for the price of one card and one cable. WHY THE 82599EN MATTERS The controller is the same one the Intel X520-DA1 is built around. That is not a marketing line, it is the reason it works: the ixgbe module has been in the Linux kernel for over a decade, and Proxmox, TrueNAS, Unraid, ESXi, QNAP and Synology recognize the card without a plugin. Cards built on obscure silicon do not get that. ANY MODULE YOU ALREADY OWN Intel-branded X520 cards refuse optics they do not recognize. This one does not. Passive copper DAC twinax, active optical cable, 10GBASE-SR multimode and 10GBASE-LR single-mode all link up, so the transceiver you already have in a drawer is fine. WHAT THE CARD DOES One SFP+ cage, 10 Gbps full duplex, stepping down to 2.5G, 1G and 100M when the far end is slower. Jumbo frames to 9KB, hardware checksum offload, VLAN tagging and PXE boot. It needs only four PCIe lanes and seats in any x4, x8 or x16 slot. WHERE IT EARNS ITS PLACE Direct NAS to workstation links for video and photo work. Storage networks for Proxmox and ESXi clusters. Backup targets that finish overnight instead of over a weekend. Uplinks from a home lab switch. Recorders writing many camera streams at once. TWO THINGS TO KNOW FIRST No transceiver or cable is included, so match one to your switch. On Windows, the driver does not arrive through Windows Update; install the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack and the card appears as an X520 server adapter. IN THE BOX The card, a full-height bracket, a low-profile bracket, and the driver guide. BZIZU builds networking cards for people running real infrastructure at home and in small offices. Driver files and setup notes are published and kept current for every card we ship.
