PENCILS WITH HERITAGE – First created in the 1930’s, Blackwing built a following that included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters. Discontinued in the 90’s, devotees paid as much as $40 a pencil. In 2010, we revived the Blackwing brand for a new generation of writers, musicians, and others seeking a more natural existence.

The blue Pearl colorway is a new addition to our core Blackwing pencil line-up. Each pencil contains the same balanced and smooth graphite core found in our other Pearl pencils. It is softer than the graphite found in the Blackwing 602, but firmer than the graphite found in the Blackwing Matte, a favorite among calligraphers and illustrators. Each pencil features a pearlescent blue finish, iconic square Blackwing ferrule, silver imprint, and denim blue eraser. Blackwing Pearl Blue pencils come in a 12-pack gift box that doubles as a pencil cup.
