Description

Creates a precise 1" x 2-1/4" finish mortise for latch and strike installations on door edges and jambs.

Kit includes the two essential 1” x 2-1/4” templates, the 70131 A Latch Template and the 70132 A Strike Template.

Includes a red plastic center locator for accurate alignment over pre-bored holes to ensure precise positioning.

The 10" carrier are made from durable bamboo, providing eco-friendly construction and excellent stability during use.

Features two adjustable red stops on the back of the template that can be adjusted up to 1/2", accommodating door jamb thicknesses of 1-3/8” to 1-3/4”.

Fine steel nails at both ends of the carrier make it easy to securely attach the template to the door or jamb.

Secure the template to the door jamb, remove the locator, and route the mortise using a 5/8” router template guide and a 1/2” mortising bit for smooth, accurate cuts.

Ideal for both contractors and DIYers, providing consistent and professional-quality results for latch, strike, and deadbolt installations.

Can be used with the 70168 clamp-on kit (sold separately) for a no-nail installation, preventing unwanted marks on the door.
