Keep it plugged in when home — Use the USB-C cable constantly during the day rather than relying on the battery to extend lifespan. 3. Freeze ice packs extra cold — Place them in your freezer the night before for maximum cooling duration. Replace packs every 4–6 hours with newly frozen ones. 4. Wrap ice packs in plastic — Place melting ice packs in small plastic bags or zip-lock bags to prevent water from dripping into food compartments. 5. Use dry food primarily — Reserve wet food for fresh feeds only. This feeder isn't reliable for extended wet food storage. 6. Program immediately after unboxing — Set your schedule right away and write it down. Test the dispenser for 7–10 days to catch failures within the return window. 7. Program all 6 meals even if you don't need them — Fill unused compartments with dry treats or kibble to keep the rotation mechanism working smoothly. 8. Clean compartments weekly — Remove any food residue that could cause jamming. Use a dry cloth only. 9. Test before traveling — Don't rely on this feeder for overnight trips unless you verify it's working perfectly first. 10. Contact customer service early — If the feeder fails, reach out to Sharper Image within 30 days for a replacement or return.
