You need to "prime it", pour some coolant from the top spout into the pump assembly, then start pumping coolant.-Lubricate the pump with grease if you are not going to use it for a long time. Add some oil that requires pumping into the pump to prime it before you start to pumping liquids.The drum pump can not pump liquids with a viscosity of 50,000. This pump can only rotate clockwise in a single direction.
