Description

PULLS OUT STUBBORN MOEN CARTRIDGES: Precision-engineered to safely extract heavily calcified Moen 1222, 1225, and 1200 Posi-Temp & Moentrol replacement cartridges that have been seized for years. WARNING: This tool is NOT compatible with plastic 1224 two-handle valves. Please verify your shower valve model before ordering to ensure an exact fit. KEEP YOUR 250 AND FIRE THE PLUMBER: Stop paying 150 to 350 for a weekend plumber callout. This exact-fit AltitudeCraft shower cartridge removal tool empowers any homeowner to turn a frustrating, hours-long plumbing nightmare into a safe, 5-minute DIY fix. Save your money and don't tear open your walls, do it yourself. UPGRADED GRADE 8 BOLT WON'T SNAP: We know cheap "pot metal" tools twist in half on the first use. We fixed it. The AltitudeCraft cartridge puller is upgraded with a heavy-duty, 5.12" extra-long Grade 8 steel bolt that instantly reaches deep threads. Engineered to deliver a rock-solid bite with zero snapping, bending, or stripping. PURE ROTATIONAL T-HANDLE LEVERAGE: Put the Vise-Grips away. Yanking a stuck cartridge with pliers will snap the stem. Our solid alloy T-handle delivers balanced, two-handed torque to safely break decades of hard water and calcium seals. Laser-engraved "TWIST" arrows mean zero guesswork. Allen wrench included right in the box. CONTRACTOR-GRADE TOUGHNESS: Built for the 20-year veteran plumber and the weekend DIYer facing hard water sediment. Arrives ready to work in premium packaging so the threads are never damaged in transit. Backed by a 1-year standard warranty (extendable to 3 years).

That Moen 1222 cartridge has been seized in the valve body since the Bush years and the drip is back. The next plumber call averages 275 dollars. AltitudeCraft makes a cartridge removal tool that pulls the seized cartridge out in about 20 minutes - same job, your Saturday intact.

Moen 1225 (Moentrol single-handle)

Moen 1200 (older single-handle)

Check the model stamped on your cartridge before ordering

What's in the Box

Cartridge puller body

SUS 304 stainless steel drive screw pre-installed for corrosion resistance in damp valve compartments

Allen wrench sized to the drive screw, in the box

How to Use

Step 1: Turn off the water, remove the faucet handle and trim plate

Step 2: Remove the retainer clip from the valve body (mind the clip, it likes to drop into the wall)

Step 3: Place the puller over the cartridge so the tool tabs sit between the cartridge ears

Step 4: Thread and tighten the drive screw into the brass valve stem with the Allen wrench

Step 5: Turn the T-handle in the direction of the TWIST arrow until the cartridge is almost fully out, then pull straight

Step 6: Flush the valve body before installing the new cartridge

If the valve stem rotates with the tool instead of moving out, re-seat the tool tabs deeper into the cartridge ears

Warranty

Backed by a one-year AltitudeCraft warranty against manufacturing defects, plus three free years through product registration. If anything goes wrong, call AltitudeCraft.

Common questions about buying open-box and refurbished.

Why buy refurbished or open-box?
Refurbished and open-box products offer the same performance as new at a fraction of the price. You're already saving $2 on this listing. They've been inspected, tested, and are ready to use — the only difference is the price tag. Buying refurbished also reduces electronic waste, extending product life cycles and keeping functional devices out of landfills.
What's the difference between open-box and refurbished?
Open-box products are customer returns that have been inspected and confirmed functional. They may show little to no use — often the item was returned simply because the buyer changed their mind. Refurbished products have been professionally repaired or restored by technicians, tested to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and sometimes come with a warranty. Both are a smart alternative to buying new.
Why use OpenBoxFox?
Finding refurbished deals is time-consuming — you'd have to check Amazon Warehouse, Reebelo, Dyson Outlet, and others separately for AltitudeCraft products. OpenBoxFox aggregates these listings in one place, so you can compare and find the best deal without the legwork. We update pricing daily so you always see current availability and real savings.
Is it safe to buy refurbished?
Yes. Products listed on OpenBoxFox come from established retailers like Amazon, Reebelo, and Dyson — not unknown third-party sellers. Each retailer has buyer protection policies, return windows, and in some cases warranties. You get the price advantage of used goods with the purchase security of a known retailer.
