Place the bottom aluminum plate on the head where the rocker bolts mount, then the middle section with the stud on top. Secure them using 2 supplied bolts, centering between the valve springs. Hand Tighten with a ratchet or socket only. If the head is installed on the engine, use a fitting with compressed air in the spark plug hole to keep the valves pushed close before tightening.
