Product Overview:
Versatile 17-70mm Zoom Range
The Tamron 17-70mm provides a highly versatile focal-length range equivalent to approximately 25.5-105mm on Sony APS-C cameras, making it suitable for landscapes, portraits, street photography, travel, and everyday shooting.
Constant f/2.8 Aperture
The fast constant f/2.8 maximum aperture provides consistent exposure throughout the zoom range and performs well in low-light conditions while allowing attractive background separation.
Vibration Compensation (VC)
Tamron's built-in Vibration Compensation system helps reduce the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld images, particularly when shooting at slower shutter speeds.
RXD Autofocus System
The Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive (RXD) autofocus system provides fast, smooth, and quiet focusing for both still photography and video.
Designed for Sony E-Mount APS-C
This lens is designed specifically for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras and provides a practical all-purpose zoom range.
Moisture-Resistant Construction
The lens features moisture-resistant construction to provide additional protection when shooting in challenging outdoor conditions.
Close-Focusing Capability
With a minimum focusing distance of approximately 7.5 inches (19 cm) at the 17mm position, the lens is capable of capturing detailed close-up subjects.
Compact All-Purpose Lens
Combining a wide-angle perspective, short telephoto reach, fast f/2.8 aperture, image stabilization, and quiet autofocus, this lens is well suited for photographers who want one lens for a wide variety of situations.
