Description

The Sony BRAVIA 5 K-85XR50 is an 85-inch 4K UHD Smart TV designed to deliver a premium, immersive home theater experience on an ultra-large screen. Combining Mini-LED backlighting with Sony’s advanced Cognitive Processor XR, this TV produces precise contrast, high brightness, and lifelike picture quality that brings movies, sports, gaming, and streaming content to life.

The 3840 × 2160 Ultra HD resolution delivers four times the detail of Full HD, producing sharp images with enhanced depth and realism. Mini-LED backlighting with advanced local dimming precisely controls brightness across the screen, resulting in brighter highlights and deeper blacks. XR Triluminos Pro technology enhances colour accuracy and richness, while support for HDR formats including Dolby Vision improves contrast and reveals more detail in both bright and dark scenes.

At the core of the TV, the Cognitive Processor XR analyzes content in real time, optimizing picture and sound to reflect how humans naturally see and hear. XR Picture and XR Sound technologies work together to enhance clarity, depth, and audio positioning, creating a more natural and immersive viewing experience.

Powered by the Google TV smart platform, the BRAVIA 5 organizes movies, TV shows, and live TV from popular apps into one clean, easy-to-navigate interface. Built-in Google Assistant enables convenient voice control for searching content, controlling playback, and managing compatible smart home devices. Chromecast is built in, allowing effortless wireless casting from compatible phones, tablets, or computers.

Audio is delivered through integrated speakers enhanced with XR Sound processing for clearer dialogue and balanced sound, with support for connecting external audio systems to create a more expansive home theater setup. Connectivity options include multiple HDMI inputs, USB ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, making it easy to connect gaming consoles, soundbars, streaming devices, and external media.

With its massive 85-inch display, Mini-LED contrast performance, and advanced XR processing, the Sony BRAVIA 5 K-85XR50 delivers a powerful and immersive 4K smart TV experience ideal for large living spaces and dedicated home theaters.

Common questions about buying open-box and refurbished.

Why buy refurbished or open-box?

Refurbished and open-box products offer the same performance as new at a fraction of the price. You're already saving $1600 on this listing. They've been inspected, tested, and are ready to use — the only difference is the price tag. Buying refurbished also reduces electronic waste, extending product life cycles and keeping functional devices out of landfills.

What's the difference between open-box and refurbished?

Open-box products are customer returns that have been inspected and confirmed functional. They may show little to no use — often the item was returned simply because the buyer changed their mind. Refurbished products have been professionally repaired or restored by technicians, tested to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and sometimes come with a warranty. Both are a smart alternative to buying new.

Why use OpenBoxFox?

Finding refurbished deals is time-consuming — you'd have to check Amazon Warehouse, Reebelo, Dyson Outlet, and others separately for SONY products. OpenBoxFox aggregates these listings in one place, so you can compare and find the best deal without the legwork. We update pricing daily so you always see current availability and real savings.

Is it safe to buy refurbished?

Yes. Products listed on OpenBoxFox come from established retailers like Amazon, Reebelo, and Dyson — not unknown third-party sellers. Each retailer has buyer protection policies, return windows, and in some cases warranties. You get the price advantage of used goods with the purchase security of a known retailer.
