Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH - MFT-mount Camera Lens — Refurbished, 37% Off

The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH - MFT-mount Camera Lens is a highly regarded wide-angle prime lens designed for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mirrorless cameras from Panasonic and Olympus/OM System. With a 15 mm focal length — equivalent to roughly 30 mm on a full-frame camera — it delivers a natural perspective that’s well-suited for street, documentary, landscape, and everyday shooting.

At its core is a bright f/1.7 maximum aperture, which excels in low-light conditions and gives creative control over depth of field, enabling subject isolation and smooth out-of-focus areas. The optics consist of 9 elements in 7 groups with three aspherical elements and a Nano Surface Coating that suppresses flare and ghosting to maintain high contrast and clear rendering.

The lens features an internal focusing system with a stepping autofocus motor, providing fast, smooth, and quiet focus performance that’s suitable for both stills and video. A dedicated MF/AF switch and an aperture ring allow intuitive control, while the rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality.

Physically, the lens is compact and lightweight (≈115 g) with a 46 mm filter thread, making it easy to carry and pair with small MFT camera bodies without adding bulk. Although it does not include optical image stabilization, its bright aperture often allows faster shutter speeds for handheld shooting.

In the box, you’ll typically find the lens, front and rear caps, lens hood and hood cap, decoration ring, storage bag, and a limited manufacturer’s warranty, giving you everything you need to start shooting right away.

Overall, this lens combines excellent optical performance, fast aperture, and compact portability, making it a popular choice for MFT photographers and videographers who want a high-quality wide-angle prime that performs well in a broad range of creative situations.
