Description

Klipsch R-40M Reference 4″ Bookshelf Speaker – Black – Pair
The Klipsch R-40M Reference 4″ Bookshelf Speaker Pair in black features an exclusive Tractrix horn technology that delivers clean, natural sound with increased directivity control over a broader range of frequencies. The Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) aluminum tweeter with Kapton suspension reduces distortion for enhanced, detailed performances, and the Spun-copper Thermoformed Crystalline Polymer (TCP) woofers with additional ribbing increase rigidity for improved accuracy and transparency. The Klipsch R-40M speakers also have a sleek, modern appearance with hidden fasteners, edge-to-edge horn, and low-profile magnetic grilles, and are constructed with reinforced 3/4″ MDF and scratch-resistant, textured wood grain vinyl for added durability and improved sonic accuracy.

All New 90° X 90° Tractrix Horn
Our exclusive Tractrix® horn technology delivers the power, detail and emotion of the live music experience with the cleanest, most natural sound possible. The increased outer horn dimensions allow for directivity control over a larger bandwidth of frequencies, resulting in improved high frequency directivity and a more accurate sound stage.

Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) Aluminum Tweeter With Kapton Suspension
The Klipsch R-40M exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. Aluminum is an extremely light and rigid material used in the tweeter assembly to provide high efficiency and improve resolution and detail. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of Klipsch speakers, making it a core component of some of the best speakers in the world.

Spun-copper Thermoformed Crystalline Polymer (TCP) Woofers
Utilizing trickle-down technology from Klipsch’s highly acclaimed Reference Premiere series, the TCP woofers have steeper angling of the cones for a smoother response and improved accuracy and transparency. The Klipsch R-40M additional ribbing increases the overall rigidity for less cone breakup at higher frequencies.

Sleek, Modern Appearance
Hidden fasteners, edge-to-edge horn, and low-profile magnetic grilles give the speakers a polished, modern appearance.

MDF Cabinet With Scratch-resistant, Textured Wood Grain Vinyl
Stylish aesthetic with absolute durability that results in a seamless integration into any décor.

High Quality Cabinet Design
Reinforced 3/4” MDF construction with an all-new bracing design reduces cabinet vibration for less audible coloration and improved sonic accuracy.

Common questions about buying open-box and refurbished.

Why buy refurbished or open-box?

Refurbished and open-box products offer the same performance as new at a fraction of the price. You're already saving $70 on this listing. They've been inspected, tested, and are ready to use — the only difference is the price tag. Buying refurbished also reduces electronic waste, extending product life cycles and keeping functional devices out of landfills.

What's the difference between open-box and refurbished?

Open-box products are customer returns that have been inspected and confirmed functional. They may show little to no use — often the item was returned simply because the buyer changed their mind. Refurbished products have been professionally repaired or restored by technicians, tested to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, and sometimes come with a warranty. Both are a smart alternative to buying new.

Why use OpenBoxFox?

Finding refurbished deals is time-consuming — you'd have to check Amazon Warehouse, Reebelo, Dyson Outlet, and others separately for KLIPSCH products. OpenBoxFox aggregates these listings in one place, so you can compare and find the best deal without the legwork. We update pricing daily so you always see current availability and real savings.

Is it safe to buy refurbished?

Yes. Products listed on OpenBoxFox come from established retailers like Amazon, Reebelo, and Dyson — not unknown third-party sellers. Each retailer has buyer protection policies, return windows, and in some cases warranties. You get the price advantage of used goods with the purchase security of a known retailer.
