The brake shoes do not need to be removed to install/remove the old part. Once the bolts are removed it can be slid up and out.

Remember to use the old removable dirt/water seal from your old unit.

Suggest to replace the front wheel cylinder in pairs.

Brake fluid will take the path of least resistance.

If only one is replaced and it functions more efficiently than the older cylinder the result will be uneven stopping.

Your quad may end up pulling to the left or right.
