A Simple Guide to Installing Your Recessed Pan Fitting D-Ring Tie-Down Anchors
If installing in a wood floor, we'd recommend using a mounting plate (not included in this product) when installing recessed D-ring pan fittings.
1. Try to choose a versatile tie-down spot that will be convenient for all kinds of loads. Corners of truck beds and trailers are often optimal.
2. Decide where exactly you wish to install a D-ring and cross the spot.
3. With a hole saw and chisel, use the center spot to cut a 3" x 2-7/8" hole that gradually advances from 9/16" deep to 1-1/8" deep because the recessed pan fitting is deeper on one side.
4. The recessed pan fitting has four pre-drilled holes - one in each corner. They are square holes, ensures compatibility with carriage bolts, such as the ones available in a separate kit with these pan fittings and mounting plates.
5. If you’re using a back plate, place it on the mounting surface underside and secure each bolt with a washer and nut.
6. Your tie-down anchor is now ready to go! Use it to anchor chains, S-hook straps, bungee cords, motorcycle tie-downs, and other cargo control products.
